If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it’s… well, everyone in Australia right now. 🌧️
Geez, our farmers deserve a standing ovation this week. I thought school drop-off in the rain was tough, but imagine trying to dig potatoes or pull Dutch carrots out of quicksand. That’s the reality out in the fields right now, and we’re grateful for every muddy box of goodness they get to us.
What to think about in wet weather 🌦️
When the skies don’t stop pouring, there are a few things worth keeping in mind for your fruit and veg:
-
Eat it quick – leafy greens, lettuce, herbs, and soft veg don’t love days of Mother Nature’s sprinkler system. Keep these front and centre in the fridge and enjoy them sooner rather than later.
-
Berries – this week we’re leaning into strawberries and blueberries over the softer raspberries and blackberries, which don’t hold up quite as well in soggy conditions.
